The Institutional Sales Manager role offers an opportunity to support the expansion of a global asset management business in Korea. Based onsite in Seoul, the position will develop relationships with Korean institutional investors, lead fundraising initiatives, and manage the process from initial engagement through capital commitment.
As an early member of the growing Korea platform, the successful candidate will work closely with regional investment and distribution teams while contributing directly to long-term institutional business growth.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with Korean institutional investors, including pension funds, mutual aid associations, insurance companies, securities firms, banks, asset owners, and outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) platforms
Lead fundraising initiatives across institutional channels
Identify and originate new investment opportunities with Korean limited partners (LPs)
Coordinate closely with regional investment and distribution teams
Manage fundraising processes from initial meetings through capital commitments
Deliver presentations and investment updates
Provide due diligence support throughout the fundraising process
Requirements
3–7 years of experience in institutional sales, institutional coverage, fund distribution, capital raising, investor relations, or asset management sales
Existing relationships with Korean institutional investors
Experience introducing investment products to pension funds, insurance companies, mutual aid associations, or other institutional investors
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred qualifications:
Background in a global or domestic asset management firm
Previous work with an investment bank or securities firm
Exposure to placement agencies or private markets distribution teams
Fixed-income or bond fund sales experience
