The Field Application Engineer (FAE) role supports strategic semiconductor customers in South Korea as the primary technical interface between customers and global engineering teams. This remote and customer-site-based position provides application support, troubleshooting, project implementation, and technical consultation for advanced semiconductor test solutions.
It is a highly autonomous role for a self-driven professional with the ability to work directly with customers and solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.
Location: South Korea (Remote/Customer Site Based)
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for semiconductor test solutions and related hardware
Serve as the primary technical contact for customers in South Korea
Support product evaluations, qualifications, and new project implementations
Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate solutions with global engineering teams
Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and deliver effective solutions
Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer training
Support on-site customer activities and project execution
Gather customer feedback and communicate market requirements internally
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations teams to support customer success
Identify business growth opportunities within existing customer accounts
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry
Strong knowledge of semiconductor testing environments
Experience supporting customers in a technical engineering role
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills in both Korean and English
Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Wafer test or package test
Probe cards, test sockets, or load boards
Automated Test Equipment interface hardware or Automated Test Equipment
Semiconductor test engineering
Experience with a semiconductor manufacturer, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test provider, test equipment company, probe card company, socket company, or related semiconductor test solution provider
